The Alsco Las Vegas Branch Helps Feed Homeless Veterans

Las Vegas — June 14, 2019 — Hundreds of United States veterans struggle with homelessness in Nevada every year. Veterans Village, a transitional and permanent housing residence for U.S. veterans, works with veterans to provide food and shelter as well as other services. The Alsco Las Vegas Branch applied for and received a nonprofit gift/grant through the Steiner Foundation, which Alsco created in 1969 to allow Alsco branches to become involved in and support nonprofit charities and projects in their communities.

In support of all veterans and their service to the United States, the Alsco Las Vegas Branch is proud to support Veterans Village. Alsco’s donation will go directly to providing meals for the homeless. “Veterans Village provides comprehensive housing with intensive support services to U.S. veterans through a unique and holistic approach,” says Michael Beau Murchison, general manager of the Alsco Las Vegas Branch, “and we felt that supporting Veterans Village would be one of the best ways we could help support veterans in our local area.” As part of its holistic approach to finding housing solutions for homeless veterans, Veterans Village has created public and private collaborative partnerships to provide supplies and services to residents, including housing, medical and mental health services, employment training, referrals and placements, food pantry/nutrition programs and transportation to the VA Hospital and primary care clinics. Alsco is honored to be part of this collaborative partnership. For more information about Veterans Village, please visit http://veteransvillagelasvegas.org/.
