Randleman, NC — July 9, 2018 — Recently, Alsco Inc., the premier linen and uniform rental services company, made a contribution to Victory Junction, a camp committed to enriching the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camp experiences at no cost to the children’s families. Victory Junction provides the best care possible to all children, ensuring experiences that are not only fun for them, but also worry-free for their parents.
Victory Junction was the dream of Adam Petty, a fourth-generation race car driver from the famous Petty family and a rising star in the sport. When not racing, Adam often visited children in pediatric hospitals. After his tragic passing from a racing accident in 2000, the Petty family realized Adam’s dream of a camp to serve children with serious medical conditions through the opening of Victory Junction in 2004. Alsco’s contribution provides the funds for two children to attend the camp.
“We really want to say ‘thanks’ to Alsco for coming to see the camp, and after seeing what it’s all about, to be able to give back,” said Richard Petty. “Victory Junction is a special place for us, and we can’t make it work without everyone giving a little bit. It means a lot to have Alsco come on board to support the camp.”
For 14 years, the 84-acre North Carolina camp has enriched the lives of children with chronic medical conditions and serious illnesses through play, imagination, sports, making friends, and simply having fun with the experiences of camp life. Camp is fun and empowering for children who attend. Camp experiences foster independence, inspire confidence, and build self-esteem for campers.
“I visited Victory Junction during the Alsco 300 race week and knew immediately that Alsco needed to give back to this great organization,” added Alsco Regional Manager, Wayne Moore.
“Alsco has supported our race efforts at Richard Petty Motorsports and have supported my grandson, Thad Moffitt, but this is a little more personal,” said Richard Petty. “A donation to Victory Junction is a way to honor Adam and his legacy. And, it’s more than just racing. It’s about allowing these children to experience things that maybe they can’t anyplace else. So it just makes us feel good to see Alsco really take interest. That’s more of a friendship than a business relationship. We’re glad to call Alsco our friends.”
“Alsco appreciates the family values that Richard Petty has been known for over the years, always giving back and never forgetting his roots,” added Alsco Director of Sales and Marketing, Jim Divers. “This is projected through everything he does — everything that his family does — and we are proud to be on his team.”
