PORTSMOUTH, Va. – June 12, 2017 – Alsco Inc., the premier linen and uniform rental services company, recently donated funds for the second time in two years to the Holiday House of Portsmouth (HHP), an intermediate care facility in Virginia that serves individuals with intellectual disabilities, ages 4 through 21. Life for children with intellectual disabilities is never easy, but the transition to adulthood can be even more challenging. HHP is working to ease this transition for the children it supports across Virginia.
To support their efforts, Alsco donated funds in 2016 to HHP to help it lease an Adult Intermediate Care Facility Group Home, which allows HHP to provide continuity of services once the children it supports age out of HHP’s regular youth program.
This year, Alsco again supported HHP by helping them purchase a Somatron Therapy Lounge Chair and a Somatron Music Learning Chair. These specialized chairs provide a more relaxing and therapeutic environment in their facility, particularly for youth who are sensory oriented.
Alsco is proud to support their efforts through its donations and those of the Portsmouth community and throughout Virginia.
